In early March 2022, the village of Boromlia fell under occupation. The Okhrimenko household, situated at the village center, became the headquarters for the Russian military, who installed a tripwire in the house’s garden. On March 16, Andrii Okhrimenko received news that his house had been destroyed. Upon rushing to the scene, Andrii disappeared without a trace.

According to Andrii’s wife, the Russians discovered military equipment photos on his phone and assured her that he would be released within a few days. However, Andrii remains in captivity, leaving his two children, 19-year-old Andriy and 3-year-old Sasha, anxiously awaiting his return.

Another hostage disclosed that the Russian military transferred Andrii to the Belgorod region in Russia. Despite indications of potential exchange preparations, the Red Cross confirms that Andrii is still held within the territory of the Russian Federation.
